
It’s always a privilege to share our story – our history, who we are, what we do, and the values that guide us every single day.
The “we” in the story includes three women who wanted to make a real difference in the fight against breast cancer. They wanted to create a platform that would allow them to donate significant resources so they started a for-profit company and agreed that 100% of their profit would be given to organizations committed to finding a cure.
Our “100% Profits to Breast Cancer Research” commitment is one of two founding values upon which Pink Screening is built (the other is “Every Client Gets VIP Treatment”).
It’s a very important part of our story, it’s why we exist, it motivates all of us, and it’s the true heart of Pink Screening. We are proud of this commitment and want to be clear and unambiguous about what we mean when we say “100% of Profits to Breast Cancer Research.”
It’s not something we just thought up to boost sales and one shouldn’t need an accounting degree to understand it.
In the simplest terms, when we say 100% of profits, we mean what’s left over (aka surplus, balance, difference) after normal business expenses are deducted from all the income we derive from sales.
Like all businesses (commercial or nonprofit), there are normal business expenses required to operate Pink Screening, such as employee compensation and benefits, insurance, training, travel, memberships, data, marketing and advertising, supplies, legal fees, occupancy costs, taxes, etc.
In 2017 and 2018, two of our founders were impacted by breast cancer.
Wanting to do more for this important cause than we could ever do as individuals, we jointly agreed that this would be our new business model starting in 2019. We manage our resources as efficiently as possible so we can maximize annual donations.
By using our services, companies are directly supporting our “100% Profit to Breast Cancer Research” commitment, which is why “Every Client Gets VIP Treatment.”
